1. Who we are and what these terms cover

vambel is operated by Qraft Holding B.V., Beeldhouwersdijk 43, 3541 AP Utrecht, Nederland, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 54873576, VAT [VAT number], contact hello@vambel.com ("we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") form the contract between us and you ("you") for the use of vambel, a web application for making branded explainer videos.

If you use vambel for your business, you accept these Terms on behalf of that business, and our Data Processing Addendum forms part of these Terms. Our Privacy Policy, Cookie notice and AI transparency page explain how we handle data and AI; they are information, not extra obligations for you, unless these Terms say otherwise.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account. vambel is not intended for children and is not directed at anyone under 13.
  • You sign up with your name, e-mail address, a password and a workspace name. Your account works only after you confirm your e-mail address.
  • You accept these Terms by ticking the unticked checkbox at sign-up. Marketing e-mails are a separate, optional choice.
  • Keep your password secret and tell us at hello@vambel.com straight away if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account and your workspaces.
  • Give correct information and keep it up to date.

3. Trial, subscription and payment

3.1 Free trial

A new workspace gets a free 14-day trial. We do not ask for a payment card for the trial, and the trial does not turn into a paid subscription by itself.

3.2 Paid subscription

After the trial you can subscribe to our one plan: USD 19.95 per month, taxes included. At checkout we show the price, the billing frequency and that the subscription renews automatically until cancelled, and you agree to the recurring charge before you pay. We confirm your subscription by e-mail, including how to cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd and Stripe, Inc.).

The subscription is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically each month on the same day until you cancel. If a payment fails, we may pause new generation and rendering until payment succeeds.

If we ever advertise a price reduction, we show the lowest price we applied in the 30 days before the reduction.

3.3 Cancellation

You can cancel at any time online with the plan button at the top right of the studio (Account and subscription). You do not need to contact us or give a reason. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for; until then you keep full access. We do not refund partial months, except where the law requires it.

3.4 Without a subscription

If you do not subscribe after the trial, or after a paid subscription ends, your workspace stays readable and you can still download your content. You cannot start new generation or rendering until you subscribe.

3.5 Right of withdrawal (EU and UK consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may withdraw from the paid subscription within 14 days of checkout without giving a reason. At checkout you ask us to start the service immediately. If you then withdraw, you pay a proportionate amount for the period up to your withdrawal and we refund the rest. Details and the model form are on the Right of withdrawal page.

4. Bring your own keys (BYOK)

vambel generates voice-overs, images, music, lip-synced presenter shots and video clips through AI providers. For ElevenLabs, OpenAI, xAI (Grok), BytePlus (Seedance), OpenRouter and Anthropic (Claude), you enter your own API keys.

  • Your keys are encrypted at rest (XChaCha20-Poly1305), are never logged and are used only when you instruct vambel to do something that needs them.
  • Content sent to those providers is sent under your own contract with that provider. We transmit it on your instruction. You are responsible for complying with that provider's terms and policies.
  • Usage costs at those providers are billed by the provider to you, not by us. vambel shows usage records (provider, model, units, cost) for transparency only.
  • We are not responsible for the availability, output or pricing of those providers.

5. Real people, consent and AI disclosure

  • You may use the face, likeness or voice of a real person (including in a "personage") only with that person's documented consent. vambel records that consent and refuses lip sync and voice cloning without it. You must keep the consent valid and stop using the material if consent is withdrawn.
  • You must not create deceptive deepfakes: content that falsely makes it look as if a real person said or did something.
  • Under the EU AI Act (Article 50), generated or manipulated video or audio that resembles real people, places or events must be disclosed as AI-generated. vambel adds an AI disclosure line to the end card of films where generated people appear. You remain responsible for proper disclosure where and when you publish, and you must not remove or obscure a disclosure in a way that misleads viewers.
  • No generated patient testimonials and no misleading health claims.
  • AI output can be wrong or unexpected. Review everything before you publish it. vambel never publishes anything automatically.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use vambel to create, upload, store or share:

  • illegal content, or content that facilitates illegal activity;
  • child sexual abuse material;
  • harassment, threats, or hateful content;
  • content that infringes intellectual property, privacy or other rights of others;
  • impersonation of a real person or organisation without consent;
  • election disinformation, or other content designed to deceive the public;
  • spam or unsolicited bulk messages.

You also must not attack, overload or try to get around the security of vambel, access other workspaces, or resell access without our written permission.

7. Reporting content and how we moderate

Anyone can report content they believe is illegal or breaches these Terms to abuse@vambel.com. Please include where the content is, why you think it is illegal or in breach, your name and e-mail address (except for reports of child sexual abuse material), and a statement that your report is accurate and made in good faith.

We review reports carefully and act expeditiously (Digital Services Act, Article 16). We confirm receipt, tell you our decision, and, where applicable, give the uploader a statement of reasons for any restriction (Article 17), including how to contest it. If we become aware of information giving rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence that threatens someone's life or safety, we inform the competent authorities. US copyright notices can also be sent to our designated agent, see the Legal notice.

8. Ownership and licences

  • You own your content: your inputs (scripts, uploads, brand kits, recordings) and the outputs generated for you, subject to the terms of the AI provider that generated them. AI output may not be protected by copyright in every country, and similar output may be generated for others.
  • You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, process and transmit your content only as needed to provide vambel to you, and for as long as needed for that.
  • We do not use your content to train AI models.
  • You confirm you have the rights and consents needed for everything you upload or generate.
  • vambel itself (software, design, templates) remains ours. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use it during your subscription or trial.

9. Suspension and termination

We may restrict content, suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or to prevent harm to others or to vambel. Any measure will be proportionate. We tell you the reason in advance where possible, and otherwise as soon as possible, with a statement of reasons and how to object. You can end your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

10. Availability and conformity

We work to keep vambel available and secure, but cannot promise uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is kept short. If you are a consumer, you have the statutory rights that apply to digital services, including the right to have vambel brought into conformity and, where the law allows, to a price reduction or termination. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

11. Liability

Our total liability under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for costs charged by AI providers you connect, or for content you publish.

These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including in case of intent or gross negligence, death or personal injury, or where mandatory consumer law gives you more protection.

If you use vambel for business, you indemnify us against third-party claims arising from content you upload, generate or publish in breach of these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms, including the price, for good reasons such as new features, legal requirements or costs. We will tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before a change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect and no new terms or price will apply to you. Changes required by law at shorter notice apply when the law requires.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live. Disputes go to the courts of Utrecht (District Court of Midden-Nederland); if you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@vambel.com. We aim to resolve it with you. You always keep the right to go to court.
